A Prime Example of a MORON. Karma she awaits ..

Martin Shkreli, 32, founder and chief executive of Turing Pharmaceuticals, purchased the rights to Daraprim which is used for treating life-threatening parasitic infections - for $55million. He raised the price of the drug from $13.50 per tablet to $750 per tablet. Since the announcement, people across social media have criticized the price increase, but Shkreli has backed the decision, saying that his company 'need to turn a profit on the drug'.

Big loser! I hope he goes to prison.

I saw this too. I was thinking about him before this came about, and I am glad this was hand delivered to him. Taking advantage of people like that who are sick.

Greed, hope he gets his just deserts.

Yep and his lawyer increased his hourly rate by the same percentage rate. If we could do this to all the jack arses who think they are managers/business people too.

Mayer is on her way out of yahoo, getting a nice pay off for destroying the company. I hop that stops too.

A prime example why people like him makes the world an unsafe and horrible place. Hope he gets what he deserves, the bastard was trying to make "profit" from very sick people who already lives in a sick system - where medicin is golden.

I pray for the sick and the exposed people **

In Sweden - where I live - medicin here is free (after you pay some amount of money) . The system if good here. Just letting ya all know.

Obama care is terrible, the system in North Carolina is worse. On the bright side, Christian did say Obama care will work given time.

The medical industry and the tax system took advantage.

In Colorado, Obamacare (The Affordable Care Act) has given thousands of people health insurance. And this is because our Governor, a Democrat, approved the Medicaid portion of it. I personally know quite a few people who can now go to the doctor and obtain their meds for free. They also receive free dental care. These has really helped the poor people in Colorado.

The Affordable Care Act has also helped me to cut my premiums in half.

If all states would have approved the Medicare portion of Obamacare, there would be much less suffering in the United States. Republican governors refused to do this, and so the people in their States suffer. This is sad.

And, to explain, in Colorado the Medicaid program was expanded to low income people who are not disabled. Now, a person doesn't have be physically disabled to receive free care. This has lifted the burden of emergency rooms as low income people can now visit a doctor regularly and treat medical conditions before they've gotten out of hand. It is a godsend here.

Hi Kay! You speak the truth. Our Governor is a Republican and refused Federal money for Medicaid. I know a lot of people who deserve to have it yet don't. My sister doesn't have it and can't afford the lowest Obamacare plan. She went to the emergency room for bronchitis and has 4 prescriptions to fill. Who is going to pay for it? She is also out of work for at least a week. This hurts her even more.

Some people have resorted to "creative truth telling" in order to get disability checks just to get the Medicaid. It is a shame when a working person can't afford the cheapest insurance available.

The Food Stamp/SNAP program has changed here in North Carolina. Families with minor children, disabled adults, and the elderly are the only ones who can get it. What about the husband and wife in an emergency situation? The state destroys families and want the poor to stay poor so it (the State) can run them. They get your insurance money when you die so they can recoup what they paid out to you. How can one get off welfare if they are penalized for having more than $2,000 in cash or assets. 2,000 won't last a month in this economy. Like I said, they want the poor to stay that way. Cheap labor for them.

Thanks for letting me rant.

What is this free meds and dental care you speak of? I get Medicaid in NC and still have to pay a copay at the pharmacy. Dental care fees depend on the type of clinic. A new one opened and I got care for free. I pay a $3.00 copay for specialists, x-rays, etc. Trust me, the copays add up. Medicaid will not cover emergency room visits if your doctor's office could have seen you or you could have gone to urgent care AND it was not a true emergency like heart attack.

To be honest beyond price gouging and greed, I knew little about this scumbag until yesterday. I've learned more about his M.O. and corrupt character since then. I'm so glad the feds were on his tail just waiting to catch him. His arrogance and ego pulled a huge spotlight over him. You're right, CD - this is KARMA.

Happy to read the good comments about the affordable care act.

The greedy azz who bought drug patents and jacked up the prices should go to prison. The feds couldn't charge him for the price gouging because it is not illegal, but he will get nailed for misappropriating funds.

The last drug he bought and jacked up is used in Mexico and south america. He may find prison very dangerous to his health.
