N.H.S. Today my little brother, who suffers badly with asthma. Had two Dr appointments. First… A telephone consultation, for an ear infection. “What” I hear you say… Yay, that’s right. Bit like going to the optician to have a pedicure. He had an ear infection last Autumn. It took three rounds of antibiotics to clear that. This time he was told wait & see… Next… An in person visit for his Asthma review. He was expecting to see the Dr. NO… He got an “Asthma Nurse” She took his blood pressure. Checked his weight (He’d lost 14lbs) He asked he if she was going to listen to his chest, as you would expect. She replied. “I’m not allowed to do that” WHAT!!!! He explained that he is coughing up green phlegm. As well as not being able to sleep. So he asked if he could have some antibiotics. She replied “ Not allowed to give those to you” In her defense she did suggest a spray from the chemist over the counter medicine. Which when my brother went to get this. Had written all over the box. Fo
