This doesn't make any sense. Doesn't he have close relationships with his two adopted kids? Katie Holmes must have pulled the rug from under his feet and wouldn't let Suri get brainwashed by the cult. He's a super control freak addicted to fame, coddling and power. Perfect for the Sickotologists.
I think Katie went about leaving Tom in a very smart manner. It payed to have a Father and Brother who are family court lawyers and it would not surprise me if she had very strict boundaries around his access to Suri. His treatment of Nicole was despicable so in this case I do believe Karma worked its magic.
The best thing Katie got out of all of this is Siri.
