But Madonna, well, this MEGA superstar apparently had a career for some 35, 40 years?? and won a gazillion awards. I think people fail to realize how extremely difficult it is to find equal male companionship when you become that successful. Either the men are intimidated or users. It's hard to find true love when you are rich and or successful, at least for a woman.
I don't think Madonna is desperate -- she might be controlling, but that comes with the territory. You don't reach that pinnacle of success that she had by letting others make decisions for you.
Madonna is and was an incredible show/business woman. Mariah has an incredible gift, her voice, but something happened to her and she became this fake wannabe version of Marilyn Monroe or Betty Boop.
Now that she is no longer engaged, she can disappear into the woodwork, get fat, and put out Christmas music CDs annually. My two cents.
Mariah is rich and doesn't need the money, but I do believe she loves power. I can't see her ending the relationship with Billionaire Packer unless there were some things on her list that were deal breakers.
That said, I think he ended it with her for some reason.
I don't think Packer ever cared for the limelight, but he does seem to gravitate towards famous women in show business. He's been married a couple of times (and to some very attractive women) and has three children.
The fact that they lasted as long as they did (Packer and Mariah) is a miracle in itself. Unless Mariah is actually different from her public persona, I can't see that they would have that much in common. At the end of the day for any relationship, after the "honeymoon period," aside from having a true friendship, you just got to be able to have a cup of coffee and talk about anything and everything, anytime with your mate.
Anon 1:49 AM, seriously? No sex? Wow.
Well, if in fact, that is true, they must have had some sort of discussion (understanding?) beforehand because he bought her a ROCK and proposed to her.
I saw tonight that Mariah is asking for 50 million dollars for the breakup of the engagement. Good luck Mariah. She doesn't seem too broken-up over the relationship. Obviously, it was more about the money and being married to a billionaire.
