So let me tell you about my “Virgin Media” Drama today.
I spent 2 hours trying to sort out how to get my iphone .
To be able to work in the UK.
It is unlocked so no problem there.
However when i tried to sign up for “SERVICE”.
i was nicely helped by three sperate operators.
All of them did their best to help.
In fact I would say they did go out of their way to help.
So the following is no reflection on them, at all.
However on the management of said “VIRGIN MEDIA”.
Another matter completely.
After going through all the hoops and whatever to get this done.
Been told the best deal for me.
5000 minutes 5Gb, thousands of texts. X amount of data.
We come to the payment part.
I start to tell them my bank details so they can get their.
Twenty five pounds for 30 days.
When....
TROUBLE.
You see the “GLOBAL” company that is “VIRGIN”.
Doesn’t accept America/foreign issued debit/credit cards.
THey tell me that their system is not set up to accept any other then British cards, really!
So much for the global economic system
So after waiting all that time.
NOTHING......
The ironic part of this is tough.
I could go into a “Virgin” store. Here in the UK.
Where I could absolutely but a cell phone, Even a “Virgin”one.
But...
Wait for it....
I couldn’t buy the service with said American debit/credit card.
That I just purchased a bloody phone with...
Crazy right.
Let’s just say CD NOT HAPPY.
So I look online I find GiffGaff.
They offer unlimited data, unlimited calls, unlimited texts.
For 30 days, for twenty pounds.
CHEAPER and for much more.
The new SIM card delivery by tomorrow.
But guess what....
How would i be able to pay? You ask.
I simply charge it to my debit card.
the same American debit card that Virgin cannot take.
Not isn’t a joke...
IT’S FOR REAL.
Now I have always known that Richard Branson is a nasty piece of work.
Without telling secrets.
But he seems to be losing it as a businessman too.
Let’s guess who I will be recommending to every traveler I know.
Who wishes to use their “Foriegn” cellphone in the UK.
Yeah you got it.

I was with Boost for over 10 years. I left Boost because they refused to fix a simple technical issue. They kept telling me my phone was the problem even though I had 3 different brands and still could not receive calls and texts. All they had to do was reprovision me. Sprint says I owe money. I have NEVER owned a Sprint device. I have NEVER had Sprint service.
