Note to self: if I ever have a consult or have a phone call to a lawyer, remember that she/ he’s recording everything you discuss. Even without my consent.

If you get a free consultation then what you discussed is NOT privileged information. So if I interview lawyers cuz I committed a crime and give details but I don't pay them for their time they can go to the cops.

That’s interesting. So people who can’t afford to pay their lawyer consult bill are denied basic ethical rights. To confidentiality. Nah. The more I know about how the legal industry. The more I hate it.

The right to privacy comes into play only when the client or potential client pays the attorney for their time.

Some attorneys do provide free consultation but most will keep a confidence. If word gets out they squealed on a potential client I doubt they will be hired by anyone in the future.
