My friends husband's family owns a lot of the property where it burned on Maui. The fear is it will be sold off to developers and they will force the Native Hawaiians out. Its already happening around the beachfronts and water access properties. Those thst are born and live their have a hard time maiking ends meet because of the developers. They knew withing the first few hours over 1000 people had died. No communication or rescue was there to help. It was sad.

If they had sounded the hurricane alarms people woul have run into the fire? Really? At least they would have been awake or alerted to make an informed de ision. By the time uncle found out his house was engulfed, he ran out in bare feet to jump in the ocean but the pavement was so hot his feet burned to the ankle.
