Johnny Depp has had issues with violence and acting sloppy for a LONG time, but he's always had a good PR team to hide these issues. In past interviews, he's even admitted to having rage issues when drinking.
As a victim of domestic abuse and having had many women (my mother included) suffer at the hands of violence by men whom on the outside seem outstanding, it's painful to see how many people will assume the worst of Amber or of any victim. Mind you, I'm not excusing that Amber has issues too.
No matter how much evidence their is, it's amazing what people will rationalize in order to save the perception of their heroes.
O.J. Simpson, Bill Cosby, Mel Gibson, Woody Allen, Roman Polanski. Remember, these men had very clean public perceptions before we found out what monsters they are. And many of these guys are still celebrated.
