Years ago in 1981, the U.S attorney's office of the Southern district of Alabama played a crucial role in ensuring that the lynching of 19 year old Michael Donald was investigated and punished. Michael Donald's body was found strapped fo a tree with 23 knots. The KKK's signature calling card. And his throat had been slashed. Before the body was discoved, the KKK burned a cross on the lawn of Mobile courthouse. Nice people hey.
Jeff sessions was U.S Disctrict Attorney for Southern Alabama when the case was tried. And he successfully tried a local head of the KKK.On a Capital murder charge. While there is no doubt, Jeff Sessions was key to securing that conviction, the real heros of the case was a black man named Thomas Figures. And his brother who was assistant to Jeff Sessions at the time. Was Jeff Sessions a good guy. Well depends how you view this particular case. He certainly overcame enormous barriers to securing the conviction. Because so many in power in Alabama at the time did everything to stop the Donald family getting it back in court. Jeff Sessions has tried to claim he is a champion of Civil Rights. I find that a bit exaggerated. As his legal history dosent reveal that in its entirety. Under scrutiny.
He claims he filed dozens of desegregation claims. No he didnt. In fact he also prosecuted some black activists for fraud, because they helped some people understand and complete voting forms. No Jeffy. You aint as squeaky clean as you claim.
