Hi TW, re the Michael Jackson doc, I have only watched half of the first part. It is shocking - it centres on two guys who were children. It is very clear that both families were impressed by Jackson and the idea of being with a superstar. Jimmy’s mom spoke of the hotel rooms and would allow Jimmy to stay with Michael in his room. It’s mad! As time went on Jimmy’s mom was given a room further and further away. I have got to the part where Wade has gone to America and his mom is trying to get hold of Jackson. ( when Michael and Wade danced together in Australia he had said if he and his family were ever in the US, they should look him up!) part 2 will be added tomorrow.

Sounds to me like the parents knew or should have known what was going on. I read reports claiming Michael would gift the parents with cars,cash, and jewelry.

Hi TW. I watched it all now. Wade’s family story is really heartbreaking. He has a sister and brother both older. The mum wanted to move to the States and the father was left in Australia. He was bipolar and eventually took his own life. Both Wade and his sister testified for MJ during the Gavin trial in 2003. He eventually admitted he was a victim a few years later. By then he was married and had become a father. His wife would not let his mom visit their house for 5 months. I believe her when she said she didn’t know. It has had an effect on their family Wade’s older brother won’t forgive their mom but says he still loves her. Wade’s wife seems very strong.
I found Jimmy’s mom strange. She laughed in parts when recalling Michael and also thought of him as a son. She admitted Michael bought them a house in return for support. Jimmy seemed more closed and it affected his marriage although they are together and have children.
The bottom line is I don’t know how both families allowed their children to spend so much time with a grown man. They are at fault no question.
