The UK's Home Office plans. To ban 'freedom of movement' the minute Brexit occurs.
Originally the British government promised that it would not change the rights of EU citizens living in the UK.
But the British government has now moved to a constitutive application system for settled or pre-settled status. Instead of a simple declaratory registration system.
Applying for pre-settled status is tough. Many checks, ID verification and extra checks.
I feel its fair enough, that the UK want to seize back control of their borders.
But they need to distinguish between people who are resident there. And EU citizens resident abroad...who are visiting the country.
As they say. The devil is in the detail.

It took me a whole week to de-compress after the drama I saw/heard there.
Direct Rule is coming to Northern Ireland
If a No Deal Brexit is passed by the UK Parliament.
This possibility has happened because the DUP and Sinn Fein have failed to reach an agreement.
Since the DUP and Sinn Fein have failed to reach an agreement to the terms of a power sharing agreement. There has not been a fully functioning Assembly or Executive in Norther Ireland.
And this is NOT good.
Direct Rule is when the UK government takes over the complete day to day running of Northern Ireland.
This has not happened since between 2002 and 2007.
And UK politician Michael Gove seems determined this dosent end up happening.
Because he and everyone else knows where this is heading.
The New IRA have already been banging their drums last week. In a very blunt way.
And Direct Rule will put Northern Ireland back to the decades of The Troubles rather swiftly.
So the Catholics and Protestants effectively need to find a solution to this unwelcome direct Rule outcome.
And. Stop bickering. And start sharing power.
As soon as possible.
