I think alot of UK people would love to live in Santa Barbara.
Just like alot of UK people would love to live in Australia.
But some people think that it's not something they grew up with. The sun, the sand. Outdoor water sports, swimming regularly etc.
They move to these places. And just start to miss home.

What I don't understand is WHY did Dad, aka Prince Charles, purchase this enormously large estate for them? 14, 15 bathrooms? For a couple and a baby? Who are these two going to invite? Their families to come and stay over?
If Prince Charles knows that Meghan is planning another Megxit, except this time it will be only Harry, why buy this house? I get that Prince Charles is a Dad and wants to see his son happy, and maybe that's why he did it. A chance for his happiness, however slim.
But I still don't get it.
If Harry slipped back to the UK unknowingly, perhaps it was to get the funds for the new California estate and to arrange for pickup and delivery of his and Meghan's things at Frogmore to be sent to California. Who knows?
The Royals are worth billions. Billions! So for Prince Charles to purchase this $15 million dollar home for his son and family is a drop in the ocean.
California divorce laws are such that when two people marry, whatever they accumulate during the marriage is split 50/50.
Even if Harry's lawyers drew up a pre-nuptial agreement, I don't expect it would mean a thing because they now reside in California.
CD told us that their Hollywood Advisor relationship would be shortlived. I don't know what that will mean exactly but I do expect that once that professional relationship is over we can expect to see more of Meghan (and possibly Harry) everywhere.
It's a shame because when they stepped back from the limelight it was a good thing, it made them interesting and mysterious.
Well, what else is next? Oh yassss, the Sussex Housewarming Party (BYOM*). I fully expect that Meghan will insist on having a party to get to know the "neighbors." Oprah and Ellen live close by.

As for the divorce, MeghaTron will demand a large amount of alimony claiming she became accustomed to a higher standard of living while being married to a prominent member of the British Royal Family. This is a valid legal argument. So Prince Harry has better not have any property in his name because she’ll come for it. I think the BRF will give her a lump sum settlement. That’s what I would do.
As for the child, others have rightly pointed out the reigning monarch is the legal guardian of Baby Archie. But here’s the problem. The child is a dual citizen of USA & England.
I think one reason MeghaTron moved the family to USA is so she can attempt to gain custody of the child. I don’t think Baby Archie has a title either so that will give MeghaTron a legal advantage. The BRF has better have some big dirt on her because the courts are loathe to separate a child from its mother.
You know what? Rumor has it Prince Harry is not the biological father. If this is true then when the divorce happens this will be an Ace card the BRF can play.
The reason the property is so big will be due to having a live in housekeeper, nanny etc.

The ex-girlfriend said that once Meghan is done with you, she is cold. She also said that Meghan is very "calculated" regarding relationships.

The upcoming divorce will probably be swift and fast. A lump sum, yes. She has quite a few enemies now, mostly females I would think. I'm sure her recently dumped girlfriend, Jessica, has some juicy dirt about Meghan and could write a tell-all book, so perhaps the lawyers should seek her out when the time comes. I've been soooo busy and will be for the rest of the summer. The pandemic hit me kinda hard at one point, but things are much better now. I just cannot resist commenting about Madame Markle on CD's blog. About the prenup, I read somewhere that Harry was asked to do a prenup but refused saying Meghan and him will be married forever, but you are probably quite right that the royals don't do prenups. You really can't trust everything you read on on the internet, especially these days.
I did read that Doria, Meghan's Mom, is now living with them. She needs her own space so no doubt she got one of the "wings" of the house while the housekeeper and nanny have their private areas as well. I do believe Doria is now living with them because Meghan can use her in the future to watch over Archikens. That kid is super cute! I get the feeling Doria is not like her daughter.
CD, I don't understand why people don't "read" Meghan and get a sense of something "rotten." Oprah, Ellen, Michelle Obama, these women are mature and have been around. They know life, people. Oprah especially, has always been very intuitive. Why haven't they "seen" the real Meghan Markle?

Let me explain, take for example Eugenie, pre-wedding she was estimated to be worth close to $4 million, a sum she inherited from private trusts established by Queen Elizabeth II's mother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. Since Princess Eugenie's wealth is technically in royal trusts, it belongs to the Queen and as such no one can touch it as the Queen's power overrules that of any prenup. So basically all of the royal family's assets belong to the royal family itself as an entity rather than to individual members of the family. With Queen Elizabeth at the helm, all royal property and resources are under her domain.
Harry does (or did) have substantial wealth on his own, thanks to his inheritance from Princess Diana, however, I am not sure if there was a clause put in by his mother to protect her son's wealth should he divorce.
Although the Royal family have enough wealth to 'look after' the departing ex-spouse they are never extravagant with their settlements.
Incidentally, prenups in the Uk, are not legally enforceable

It is going to be rather interesting how the next Monarch, whoever that is, handles the upbringing of Archie post-divorce, that's if there is a royal family.
