At the beginning of the year.
Pre Covid19.
I booked a flight to see my Mum in September 2020.
I paid in full for the return flight.
Plus purchased insurance. Just in case.
Then Virgin/Cheap tickets cancelled my flight.
No problem I thought as I'm covered.
Applied for my refund.
Guess what they refused!!!!
Saying that's not what insurance is for????
So my advice is
DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE....
Comments
Absolutely disgraceful. She has vowed NEVER to fly with Rynair ever again!!
So she is still being persistent with them because THEY CANCELLED HER FLIGHTS!!!
Christian...DON'T GIVE UP...YOU ARE STILL ENTITLED TO A REFUND!!!!
File a class action lawsuit if you have to.
Richard Branson who started it, has very little say I think in how it's run today.
In 2017 they joined in some way to Air France and KLM airlines too.
In May they filed Chapter 15 Bankruptcy Protection in New York.
Does this absolve them from having to give refunds?
I don't know.
Because who you take out insurance with is a separate company.....right?
Virgin Australia is mostly owned by the Chinese today. Not Richard Branson.
So effectively I don't think he had control over Virgin Australia going broke this year.
That's why he didn't bother or didn't have the authority to accept the Australian government's offer of financial assistance to save it. Or the Chinese, who basically own it today refused to accept the assistance.
Meanwhile 100's of Brisbane based Virgin Australia employees lost their jobs.
