I'm not sure what's more important right now. Maybe you aren't from the US, which is understandable but considering what's going on in the world I'd rather know this than who Harry Styles beard is this week.
It's not normal political times.
Plus we are in a Pandemic.
Movies and the Arts are the stuff of life. I agree.
But if democracy becomes any more compromised in the U.S. The content of movies will begin to be controlled more than it already is by government.
If you look at how Hitler saw very early, a way of controlling Germans through cinema and the general media. You can see what Trump may have attempted.
Or may do. If re-elected.
He's not Hitler. I agree. But he uses alot of Fascist tactics.
Hitler actually he banned all foreign movies during WW2. And in the years leading up to it. He also banned foreign actors. Unless they were from Fascist supporting countries. Or were actors with known Fascist sympathies.
And Germans were eventually only allowed to see German made movies, that carried his fascist ideologly or glorified the Fatherland...what Germans called Germany then.
And whenever the Germans invaded a country in WW2. And occupied forcibly. One of the things they did was ban foreign made films in that country. And only permitted the screening of German made movies for audiences.
In most cases, in that instance, people boycotted those German movies and didn't see those movies. Refused to. As a form of protest.
Interestingly, Roman Polanski saw them, as a kid in Poland. But only because he loved all cinema. But he was criticized harshly for paying to see these German movies.
You can see an example of what Hitler did in regards to cinema, in Quentin Tarantino's movie, Inglourious Basterds.
While the Movie Theatre owner in Nazi Occupied France.....in that movie, has a far more serious vengeful plan. One of the great things about that Tarantino movie...is Tarantino acknowledges how harrassed and completely controlled Cinema Theatre owners were during WW2. In Nazi Occupied countries.
Trump would do this too I believe.
If he could get away with it. Just have movies that glorify him. And the U.S.

1) Hillarynshot herself in the foot when she conceded the race. She had the right to demand a recount because the race was tight.
2) The Electoral College does not always vote along party lines. If they are part of the Shadow Government that would explain how they let the human cheese ball into Presidential office.
3) In America, the Presidential candidates are not on a separate ballot. You have governor, lieutenant governor, state boards (such as education), state attorney general, local attorney general, magistrates, sheriffs, Superior Court judges, appellate court judges, commissioners, mayors, city managers, members of city council. That's not all.
If someone decides to leave the Presidential vote as "blank" that entire ballot will be thrown out. So no. It is not a waste of time.
Christian, I dreamt Trump was still in office, Melania was holding a baby in her lap. They were sitting on top of the desk in the Oval Room. Melania was in charge. They made a little rhyme to comfort the American people, saying 2020 was a bad year but this will be your year.

You wrote that the American political system is convoluted. Following that logic, a person who was born, raised and educated in America would have trouble understanding it.
