You haven't talked about your old pal Russell Grant for ages. I am sure you mentioned he had a new TV show ages ago, but I can't find it on your blog site anymore? You must have deleted some of the blog history? How is Russell? Is he ok? Haven't heard about him for ages. Worried he might be ill? Thanks x

Happy New Year 2019!! Year of the Pig.
I hope no one ate beef today because I was told by Ivy -nail tech- that you can't eat beef on the first day of the Year of the Pig. Only pork-chicken-fish anything but beef. If you do eat beef- bad luck.
I had a lovely pork soup for lunch and salmon for dinner. I am feeling lucky. I wish everyone a happy healthy prosperous Year of the Pig!

CyndiTx123, thank you for sharing that! I have been avoiding red meat until I get more allergy testing done. Turns out pork is red meat too. I don't really eat pork anyway. Dad always said not to eat it. Mother raised us not to eat crustaceans and shellfish. This is good because others and myself are allergic to them.

Pork is very bad for humans to eat. I know bacon tastes good but it is not good for you. Pigs, crustaceans, shellfish, shrimp are all bottom feeders. They eat the junk of the farm, the ocean. TW, your Mom and Dad were smart.

Thanks everyone for info about pork. The soup was served at a adorable quaint restaurant named Dixie something. They serve gluten free foods. I have a gluten food allergy totally understand T.W. about staying away from foods that aggravates your system & foods that your allergic too. I have issues with certain foods. A M - this soup was the bomb. It had hominy, shaved radishes, celantro, I added sprinkled cheese on the top. I love all kinds of broth type soups. This soup was unusual. Happy I lived to tell about it. :):) Love ya guys!!

Anonymous, thank you. They truly are. As you know, dad passed away last month and a lot of knowledge passed with him. He was VERY old, he had first hand knowledge of things you read about in history books.

CyndiTx123 - I live in The south and have never had hominy grits! If I remember correctly mom said not to eat white corn because it just sits in the belly.
