So where do they get their water supply in Egypt?
I'll tell you. The Nile River.
More specifically the Blue Nile River which is where the Nile River starts...in Ethiopia.
Unfortunately Ethiopia has been building a dam across the Blue Nile. And its construction has long been known to risk turning the Nile River in Egypt into an empty puddle.
The dam in Ethiopia is called the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
And Egypt is pissed about it.
So much so they have threatened Ethiopia to not start fillimg it.
But pictures now prove, they are filling the dam.
And Egypt is talking about a possible war with Ethiopia over it.
Ethiopia need to reflect.
Denial is not a river in Egypt.
Face facts.
If you deprive Egypt of it's only source of water, the Nile.
You will end up in a war you won't win.
Egpt have a patchy history of winning wars. But they definitely won the Nigerian Civil War in 1970.
And I guess had a shared win with allies in the Gulf War.
Egypt's only barrier to winning a war against Ethiopia is that Egypt are currently a bit busy helping other allies bring down Houthi Rebels in Yemen.
But they are not too busy to not notice that back home in Egypt, when their families turn on taps. No water comes out.
That happening will make them go berserk.
The thing is, Ethiopia is one of the poorest nations in the world. And the dam is expected to bring electricity to Ethiopia.
Badly needed.
Another thing... this dam is going to affect Sudan next door too. And they are nor happy either.
A call to Cairo is required I think. But the diplomacy over this dam issue has been going on and failing since 2011.
I had no idea this problem was happening. This goes to show you what the American Media likes to cover and cover up...
