I pray we all have a blessed week!
It's named.....hang on...I'm gonna have to concentrate when writing the name.
It's called Pistyll Rhaeadr.
People from everywhere are coming to spend time near this Welsh waterfall.
Clearly they are spiritually attracted to this waterfall.
But the problem is, they are bringing all their litter. And leaving it there.
This is disastrous from an environmental point of view. When up to 1000 to 3000 people visit the waterfall per day at the moment.
The beautiful waterfall is near the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-mochnant, Powys.
And locally the waterfall is considered to be sacred.
Well the village have had enough. And are going restrict visitors unfortunately.
Wales is a beautiful place. I have been there.
I remember going to the ruins of castle there, called Conwy Castle. In North Wales.
It was so old....built by Edward 1st.
In 1283.
I had Bronchitis at the time.
But it was one of those days when you are really young. When even illness didn't stop you havin fun.
Chick's Opinion - do you realize it is 40 years today since Azaria Chamberlain went missing at Ayers Rock? How time flies. I still remember the wild conspiracies. Most certainly taken by a dingo.
Yeah. I remember when it happened. I was a teenager.
And as I didn't know any better. I believed the media at the time.
That the parents did it.
They really suffered from trial by media hey. It was so so wrong on reflection.
And them being 7th Day Adventists just added to the hysteria about that family.
Back then it was considered a 'weird religion'.
So sad how she was jailed.
I was talking to the wife of a Doctor a few years back.
Her brother was a National Ranger in the Northern Territory up at the time.
He died young in a helicopter accident up there.
Before he died. He told her that they had plenty of evidence that a dingo took that baby.
They were lying.
He also said a dingo taking a small baby was not unusual behaviour.
I think it's crazy that there are Australians that still believe that the parents murdered that baby.
Wasn't the baby's jacket found in a deep crevice at Uluru a while back?
Yeah I think the matinee jacket was found in that area in 1986. A hiker by chance found it. If he hadn't found it Lindy would never have gotten out of jail at that time.
On Channel 7 on Sunday night, there was an excellent documentary about how the Northern Territory police deliberately framed her. They only looked at evidence that made her look guilty. They ignored all the other evidence. That doco will be on Channel 7's online site if you want to watch it.
It is hard to believe that some people still believe they are guilty.
We are talking about the mysterious disappearance of Azaria Chamberlain. In Australia in 1980.
From a tent in a camp site at night at Uluru in the Northern Territory of Australia.
Uluru is of the biggest rock formations in the world.
Roughly in the centre of Australia ....out in the desert.
Her mother always emphatically claimed a Dingo took the baby from the tent.
A Dingo is a native Australian wild dog.
Azaria Chamberlain's mother was unjustly jailed for life over the disappearance. In about 1988 she was finally released.
Because new evidence came to light that a dingo did take her baby.
The fact that released her was a bit strange.
A guy fell to his death while climbing Uluru.
When they when they went down a deep crevice to retreive his body
They found a Dingo's lair down there.
And Azaria Chamberlain's torn jacket.
Which finally proved Lindy Chamberlain, her mother's innocence.
