They are rioting because of President Macron's use of an emergency presidential decree to push through a rise in the pension age and as HRH TW mentioned France's government decided to bypass the lower house of parliament with contested pension reforms. The snap decision came moments before a planned vote, sparking fury inside and outside of parliament.

Unlike the United Kingdom which did nothing when our government raised our retirement age, the people of France have taken to the streets to protest this.

This is what we should all be doing, they have NO power over the people. The people have the power.

It is bedlam on the streets, the police are using brutality.

My thoughts and prayers and deep respect are with the french people.

Your accuracy really is quite astounding. Watching the comments in the media that Meghan Markle is planning on launching 'Goop 2.0' is almost unnerving. Can't imagine what it feels like to see things the way you do!

French firemen and some of the french Police have joined in with the Protestors. Governments DO NOT CONTROL YOU, they should work for the people, and if they are not working for the people, and doing things against your best interests then take them down and dissolve them.
