Chocmint33 - thank you for telling us about the documentary. Karen Carpenter's mother was verbally and emotionally abusive to Karen. A blind item implied her brother sexually abused her and raped her. Blind item implied the mother turned a blind eye and blamed Karen. The abuse continued into adulthood.
I use the word "implied" cuz the way the blind is written there is no one else it could be about.
I forget the brother's name, David I think, but I have rarely heard or read anything good about him.
I am still watching the documentary. Seems like that old blind item may not be made-up after all. Sad.

Finished the documentary. It was okay but I got angry. It claimed the incest rumors are preposterous because Richard had girlfriends and Karen had boyfriends.
I guess the documentary makers forgot about the married men who rape women in molest kids. I guess they forgot some people cheat on their significant others.
Yeah you are right, that’s a crazy reason for it not to happen. I do believe Enty and always felt Richard looked too good to be true. Their mom sounded dreadful. And Richard has made a fortune on the back of everything. God bless Karen.... that voice.
Imagine how Karen would have sounded had she been healthy and had vocal coaching so she could sing a different type of music.
Richard always looks creepy in pics and during interviews. Nothing is ever his fault or his parents' fault.
Her husband was a let down and when she wanted to cancel the wedding, her mother was v unsupportive and disagreed. Very sad.
