According to Pastor Dowell and many other religious groups like his, people should not go to church on Sunday because it is not the Lord's day, it is not the Sabbath day.
Really?
Let's assume no one here has been to divinity school or seminary and that no one here has the desire to do so.
The Sabbath is sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. Any properly translated Bible in any language makes this clear. Christians know this.
The Bible is clear. The early church did meet in the synagogues on Sabbath. They were not called Christians at that time, I believe they were called Nazarenes. Anyway, they were kicked out of the synagogues, so they met in each other's homes on Sunday to honor Jesus Christ's resurrection.
Again, this information is made plain in the Bible. One does not need a special college degree to learn this.
Having said that, I do believe the Roman Catholic Church teaches that the Sabbath is on Sunday even though the Bible they claim to believe in states otherwise. I am not a Roman Catholic and I am going by memory. Please do not shoot the messenger.
Pastor Dowell is correct about something else - Jesus Christ did not rise from the dead on Sunday morning. The Bible is clear.
Christ was in the grave 3 days & 3 nights. He did not die on a Friday. He was in the grave on a Wednesday evening. He rose from the dead Saturday AFTER sunset.
To be fair, one would have to refer to the Law of Moses found in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) to determine when Jesus died. Remember, there are other Sabbaths in addition to the weekly Sabbath and the Feast of Unleavened Bread was about to start.
Going by memory, the first day of that feast is considered a Sabbath. It was imperative the bodies of the men crucified on that day (Wednesday) be buried before a certain time. One could not participate in the Feast of Unleavened Bread if one became unclean as a result of touching a dead body. That is how we know Jesus did not die on Friday.
Also, common sense tells us that if he died on Friday and rose from the grave Sunday morning there is no way he was in the grave for exactly 3 days and 3 nights.
I hope this helps.

Yet some of you attacked someone I know, who is innocent and a trusting, truthful Person and very hurt because of all of you! Just because she fits the description of one of the future forever loves! But he isn't perfect and always right. He even writes on this blog he is only 98,5% accurate! There's a 1,5% chance he's not! He wasn't right, when Johnny Depp didn't win both appeals in England and had to apologise for being wrong! You make CD out to be a God, but he is just a normal human being like us men and women. He has a gift, yes, but he isn't always right.

This makes sense too. Because the way Christian described Keanu's reaction to her (that he's a little intimidated etc) is like he felt cupid's bow but didn't know what to do with it lol.
