For those not old enough to remember, in the U.S., there used to be Govt. funded psychiatric hospitals and homes where those in need could be admitted and receive treatment. Then, President Ronald Regan removed this funding. Almost overnight, the homeless problem began. It’s grown and been exacerbated by lack of help to those who’ve lost jobs, been price-gauged out of apartments, veterans who need more help than the VA supplies, etc, etc, etc. I’m neither Republican or Democrat - I’m human and it makes me sick to live in a society that has little to no regard for those in need of help. US society did not used to be this way. I realize my comments aren’t helping to solve the problem, I just needed to vent - I’m so upset at who we’ve become,

I think the government should do something to help the homeless, particularly the female elders. and I think Hollywood celebrities should make donations to food banks and shelters.

I feel sorry for them. I pray for them.

I’ve read about this and couldn’t agree more!!! How does our society / gov not realize the value to care for those in need of medical psychiatric assistance?! This lack of care for others getting is worse ( selfish attitudes and ineffective blaming )and and as whole lowers the quality of living in our society.

Thank-you, Jendevivre — and if we simply taxed — instead of exempted - big corporations and churches, the U.S. COULD supply the funding immediately. Make marijuana legal — for fun and/or medical purposes- tax the hell out of it like cigarettes and voila — there’s the funding. What about the lotteries? They were originally intended to help fund schools. I see little evidence of that - so - what if — even for a year - all lottery profits fund homeless efforts?? Habitat for Humanity could have an offshoot - Habitat for Homeless - and utilize all the empty mall and office space - re-use, recycle, re-purpose — and fund it through corporate donations. The solutions are here — not easy to implement, but they exist.

I just checked the official American government media in other languages in Asia:

they said the very OPPOSITE as if the US and European are heaven,
so Asians continue to come here with money
problem is
if you tell them the truth
Asians will take advantage of you making you a victim.
